Karama has no walls sets in the midst of Yemen’s 2011 uprising. The film illustrates the nature of the Yemeni revolution in stark contrast with the serious human rights violations that took place on Friday, March 18, 2011. Juma’at El-Karama (Friday of Dignity) marks a turning point in the Yemeni revolution, as the tragic events that took place on that day, when pro-government snipers killed 53 protesters, shook the nation and prompted hundreds of thousands more to come to the square in solidarity with their fellow citizens. Through the lenses of two cameras and the stories of two fathers, the film tells the story of the people behind the statistics and news, highlighting the tragic events of that day as they unfolded.
